81st International Association of Workforce Professionals Educational Conference Coming in October
IAWP believes that to grow as people and to grow in our careers, we need to be lifelong learners. Lifelong learning means always striving to learn more about your job, new ways to serve your customers, and being aware of the tools and services available. It is an attitude and a constant process. It works in your professional life and in your personal life. It opens your mind to new ideas, skills, and behaviors. If you have never attended an IAWP conference before this would be a great time to start. The program is filled with a well-rounded representation of Workforce topics. You will not walk away without learning a thing or two and it is also a great opportunity to meet colleagues from across the state from different departments.
This year’s state conference theme, “Empower Your Workforce: Partnership. Innovation.Community.Knowledge. ” will help all attendees develop personally and professionally.
While details are still being finalized for this year’s conference, I can share that conference topics can range from leadership skills and personal care to culture and diversity, as well as updates from agency leaders and partners. Be sure to check back in to hear more details about this year’s conference as it unfolds.
IAWP has a long history of providing educational opportunities to Workforce Professionals. The Washington State Chapter of IAWP will continue to develop partnerships that foster the goals and objectives of the Employment Security Department, along with the IAWP’s mission to bring quality education to our members. Professional growth and development is a priority of the association. We provide members with quality educational content to enhance competence and proficiency and increase knowledge.
If you are not a member this is your time to join and attend this year’s conference. Members receive the tools and resources needed to effectively contribute to their work through local, state, regional, and international educational conferences, workshops, and institutes. Be sure to visit our Education and Training page for more opportunities.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Acting President IAWP Washington State Chapter
